Sun Warrior Slot from WMS
Available In:

Sun Warrior is a slot with an Asian theme designed by WMS. Slots with this theme are very popular live casinos and this WMS design keeps up this tradition by producing a slot with a range of beautiful and distinctive looking symbols. The gameplay is somewhat unique too, as occasionally you’ll see double images in a single symbol, these helping to land wins on many more win lines than you might think possible. The free spins bonus feature is a good one, as any wins in this round can really boost your bankroll.

Double Symbols – Multiplied Wins on the Sun Warrior Slot

The game is played out on the very popular 5×3 reel configuration which you’ll find at most of the slots on the casino floor. This slot pays from left to right and has a total of 40 win lines. On the reels you’ll find a nice array of symbols, the most eye catching of which is the Sun Warrior herself. This female warrior has a rose in her dark hair and would look quite innocent if she wasn’t holding a sparkling steel knife – this warrior is not to be messed with. Also on the reels are a jade colored statue, colorful koi fish, lotus flowers and a series of fans and Chinese lanterns.

Most of the time these symbols will land on the reels as usual, but occasionally you’ll find that the symbols appear with two images crammed into the same symbol. These effectively act as multipliers, as landing a win with one of the symbols showing two images ensures that you’ll win 2x the win amount. These can appear on more than one reel, so if you were to land the double symbols twice on one win line, you’d benefit to an effective 4x multiplier.

The wild symbol is represented by a gold coin with a square hole in the middle. This symbol will substitute for every other symbol in the game apart from the bonus one, ensuring that more wins will come your way. In some ways, wilds in this game are more useful than usual, as a single wild could give you one or more of those large multiple wins.

Slot Bonus Feature with Triple Symbols

The bonus symbol in the game is represented by a temple. Land three of these symbols and you’ll win 5x your bet size and enter the feature with 8 free spins, but it can get much better than this. Hit four scatters to activate the feature and you’ll win 10x your bet and land 15 free spins, while the maximum five scatters will see you win an impressive 40 free spins.

Each of the spins in the free spins feature has an added bonus in the fact that triple symbols now appear alongside the single and double ones. This will obviously make for a nice 3x multiplier if this symbol is involved in a win, while you also have the added benefit that a series of these ‘multiplier’ symbols can quickly add up. Consider that a win which includes two of the triple symbols will pay out 9x the original win amount.

The temple symbol continues to appear throughout the feature, meaning that the feature can be retriggered and in playing the game, this is quite a regular occurrence. The number of spins you’ll win is the same number you need to land the initial bonus and these additional spins will simply be tagged onto the end of the feature.

Classic Asian Slot Design

Your first impression of Sun Warrior might be that it is a basic looking game, as there is little else going on apart from the reels, and these are backed by a simple purple coloring. While this is not ideal, all of the symbols in the game are nicely designed and this does give the game a boost. The Sun Warrior herself is the stand out symbol, while the Chinese lantern also catches your eye throughout. The accompanying soundtrack is a little too generic, without any connection with the traditional Asian theme – this is an area where there could certainly have been an improvement.

Should You Take on The Sun Warrior?

With so many slots with a similar theme, it can be tough for another slot to come along and make an impact and sun Warrior does struggle a little. The base game is a little more enjoyable than usual due to the double symbols and this improves even further during the feature round. However, the game does have a lack of variety, as the free spins feature is a little too similar to the base game and there is no action away from the reels. Nevertheless, the game is a playable one, and if you like the Asian imagery, this is worth a spin.
