Gold Slam Slots
With Gold Slam, Sheriff Gaming have totally departed from the 3D slots we have come to associate them with. We are now being sent back to the gone days of classic fruit machines. But regardless, it’s a welcome break for players who don’t mind going old school every once in a while.
The super-retro theme, use of fruits, 7s, and bars on the reels, as well as the color scheme make Gold Slam not such an imaginative slot, but it still brings back memories. You can count on having some nostalgic fun thanks to Sheriff Gaming.
Gold Slam is a retro-style classic slot that is very entertaining. It has 5 reels and 9 paylines, and is non-progressive. Free spins and bonus rounds are missing, but there are some decent features: a wild symbol and a gamble feature. Every fruit machine symbol you are used to seeing is on the reels.
Sheriff’s developers have taken time to develop the visuals of the game and this is evident in the way you feel like you are playing the one-armed bandit in a brick and mortar casino. The Gold Slam slot machine itself is real flashy and eye-catching, just like the fruit machines in land-based casinos. Even the sound effects are no less retro, and they further heighten the atmosphere.
The maximum you can win from Gold Slam is 25,000 coins. All the 9 lines are played, and the value of each bet on each spin can be anything from $0.10 to $25. Placing the highest possible bet is the only way to give yourself a chance to win the maximum jackpot of a whopping $25,000.
How to Play Gold Slam
There is no big surprise there, as Sheriff has stuck to their usual format. All the relevant betting and playing buttons are at the bottom of the reels. You select everything, from the betting amount per spin to the max bet, auto play option, and manual spin option without any hassle. And each time you win, the gamble feature (double up feature) turns up for you to choose between heads and tails and see whether you will double your winnings or lose everything.
There are two symbols that you will want to get when playing Gold Slam: the wild and the Gold 7. The wild is a simple wild and it only shows up on reels 3, 4, and 5. As for the Gold 7s, you only need 3 Gold 7s to show up on any reel so as to get a winning combination. This is a rule that is not applicable on the other symbols. When they appear on adjacent reels, the Gold 7 symbols pay from left to right. If you get a win from the Gold 7s symbols you bag some pretty decent prizes too.
There is also a nudging wild, which bears even greater possibilities for hitting winning combinations, thus hitting the jackpot. The nudging wild feature is triggered when 1 or 2 wilds pop up on reel 3. When this happens, the reel is pushed by the wilds one or two positions up or down and 3 extra wilds show up (they are nudged randomly onto the reels). They replace all symbols including the Gold 7 and so increase your chances of hitting a winning combo.
Each time you get a winning combo, you get the chance to double your wins up to 10 times by using the 1 or star button. The heads and tails will blink violently until you click on one of them and see if you are on the correct side of the 50/50 gamble. The only challenge you will have is being able to hit the button at precisely the right moment. With a correct guess you get to play this bonus game again. It only ends when you click on the collect button.
