Pink Panther Slots

The Pink Panther first appeared in 1963, and his escapades with the hapless Inspector Clouseau have entertained generations ever since – in movies, comic book and TV cartoon format. There is a lot of material with which to create an entertaining slot, and PlayTech has done a great job in doing exactly that. There are a lot of break out bonus games involved, 2 different jackpots and some entertaining on-reel features too. While the main visual characters from the cartoons are all present, for some reason the familiar theme tune is not used. I am guessing this is a copyright issue of some kind, and fortunately it does not take away from what is a thoroughly entertaining slot.

You will find the Pink Panther himself hosting your play for this game. He stands to the left of the reels, and will react when you hit wins – sometimes giving the thumbs up sign, other times putting money in his pocket and so on. The overall feel is very cartoon-like. The reels have a white background with symbols ranging from bombs to pink footprints to pots of pink paint. There are a lot of playing card symbols in use too. A cheerful tune will play while you spin, and the other sound effects could have come straight from a TV cartoon too. The best animations are for the various bonus games, where you’ll get to interact with the main characters – and hopefully win some big prizes too.

How to Play & Real Money Versions of Pink Panther

This slot has 40 win lines, which are fixed in place. These cover the 5 reel and 4 row grid. You can set your coin size and coins per line to find a bet size which suits your bankroll – starting from just 40c per spin. Auto-play is also offered. After each win you get a chance to gamble. Clicking the ‘Gamble; button brings up a row of cards. You choose to gamble all or half, and see the left hand card turned over. You then have to choose one which is higher to win.

In the regular game, the Pink Panther symbol has the single biggest prize. This is worth 5000 coins for 5 in a row, 500 for 4, 150 for 3 and 15 for just 2. This symbol is also wild, combining with the other regular symbols to make even more winning combinations. Inspector Clouseau and the white character with the moustache are next in the pay-outs – worth 500 and 300 coins for 5 of each. The bomb, paint pot, magnifying glass and footprints come next with the playing cards making up the smaller win amounts.

Scatter symbols are represented by the Pink Panther logo. You’ll get paid a multiple of your bet amount for hitting these anywhere on the reels (this does not need to be on a win-line). The top prize for all 5 is a generous 125x your total bet. Scatters do not have a role in triggering the bonus, instead these are randomly awarded.

One interesting feature which is part of the main game is the ‘Ka-Pow!’ bonus. Here the Pink Panther will randomly change up to 6 symbols into wilds for you – hopefully generating a lot of wins!

Bonus Games on the Pink Panther

There are a lot of different games to cover, all of which have break-out elements away from the reels and keep you entertained too. You will see a bonus sign come down over the reels when these start, and simply click the start button to get going.

The Cracked the Pink Code Bonus – Here you open 8 chests, revealing free spins, multipliers or a special expanding wild. Once you hit a bomb, you go back to the reels and start your free spins. If you get the expanding wild, the Pink Panther moves from the side of the screen into an elevator, and reappears covering the 3rd reel.

The Pink Trail Bonus – You follow pink footsteps with the Inspector. After 4 you are offered the chance to collect your win so far, or continue. You might win more, or might end up with half or even nothing; it is up to you to decide!

The Colour Pink Bonus – Here the panther paints pink numbers on a wall which are multiplied by your total bet. You get to choose whether to accept or reject the first 2 offers, with the 3rd one awarded by default if you get that far.

Wheel of Pink Bonus – This is a spinning wheel with multipliers of your total bet on the outer wheel, and continue / collect on the inner wheel. Keep spinning until you hit collect.

Mystery Progressive Jackpots Bonus – Here you open doors until you find 3 Panthers (for the big jackpot), 3 Inspectors (for the small one) or you end up with the fixed consolation prize instead.

There certainly is plenty going on in this slot. These bonuses are awarded randomly, so sometimes you will repeat ones you have already done before you get to brand new ones. Luckily they are all entertaining.

Overall this is a wonderful slot from PlayTech. They have managed to capture the light humour of the Pink Panther, keep things fresh and entertaining – and even weave in some jackpots too. Check out the Pink Panther for yourself soon.

About the Pink Panther

The original Pink Panther series of films did not actually involve any pink wild cats at all. Started in 1963, this was a comedy series which centred on the antics of a particularly inept police inspector by the name of Clouseau. To say this series was a success would be an understatement. There were a total of 124 short films made, as well as 10 TV shows.

Eventually, the pink panther himself (who was part of the opening sequence for the Inspector Clouseau movies) would get a cartoon. The first of these appeared on the NBC network in 1969. By 1973 a German version was also in production, and by 1976 the show was produced in extended format.
