Sea Sirens Slot Machine Game
Available In:

Sea Sirens slot is something of a combination of ideas from other Novomatic games, which have been brought together in a new underwater themed 5-reel video slot. The sirens in question are the mermaids of mythology, and they play an important part in the free spins bonus game here – giving you the opportunity to collect a lot of sunken treasure. Overall this is an attractive looking slot, with 10 win lines and plenty of ways to win big in the base game too. If you have ever played Dolphin’s Pearl or Lucky Ladies Charm in the Novomatic range, you will find elements of the game play very familiar.

How to Win on the Sea Sirens Slot

While the real focus of the Sea Sirens slot game is on the free spins bonus round, there are also plenty of ways to win reasonable amounts during the base game.

The biggest wins come via the mermaid symbol, which also works as the wild. You’ll get 9000 coins for lining up 5 of these on one of the 10 win lines, with 2500 for 4, 250 for 3 and 10 for just 2 of a kind. The usual ‘wild’ rules apply. This mermaid will substitute for all of the regular symbols – though will not substitute for the scatters.

Turtles and a ship share the next prize level, clocking in at 750 coins a piece if you hit 5 of a kind and also paying all the way down to 2. All of the other symbols require a minimum of 3 from the left, these include a crown, coin and the obligatory playing card symbols.

Pearl symbols are the scatters – both paying a prize (up to 5,000 coins for 5 of a kind) and triggering the free spins bonus game. You need 3+ anywhere in view to start the feature

Diving for Treasure with the Free Spins Bonus Game

There is a significant design difference during the free spins bonus game – the reels do not spin. Instead they start each ‘spin’ covered in tiles showing a picture of a shell. These then disappear, revealing the symbols below slowly from the top left to the bottom right. The effect is similar to a spin, though not quite as engaging.

Fortunately, some enhanced game play involving the Siren wild symbol more than makes up for this. When you make a win involving a mermaid, an animation occurs where she dives to the bottom of the sea, locates a treasure chest and opens it. This will reveal a prize for each of the wild symbols in play.

There are 15 free spins as a default, each with 3x on every win – you can extend your bonus with 3 more of the shells.

Mermaid Design

You’ll see 3 sirens around the reels of Sea Siren slot machine, one on either side under the water, with the third laying on top of the reels with blonde hair strategically covering her! Ships sail in the background, while corals and weeds grow on the sea floor below.

Reels are white, with plenty of space between most of the symbols giving this game a clean and uncluttered feel. Some of the symbols are very detailed, with the mermaid, turtle and ship all looking striking. Others are plain, though at least the playing card symbols have been given a make-over from their usual blocky appearance.

When you win there are animations, with the best of these the diving mermaid during the free spins game. The shellfish will also open to reveal a pearl when you make wins with this. In the base game the sounds are very typical Novomatic whirrs and thuds. When you hit the bonus game, a slightly crazy theme tune plays, with a piano / keyboard lead over a plodding bass – I’m really not sure it fits with the slot, though it is not too unpleasant!

The setup is a simple 10 win-line slot over a 5 reel, 3 row grid of symbols. You can adjust both the number of win-lines and the coins bet per line. You will also be offered the usual gamble-after-win and auto-play options.

Overall Experience

Novomatic have combined some ideas from some solid casino slot games, and created another solid game out of these. The base game is very standard, though things start to get interesting during the free spins. Diving mermaids can uncover some big prizes from those treasure chests. This should be enough to keep your mind off of the slightly crazy bonus game music.
