Bloody Love Slot from Novomatic
Bloody Love is a horror themed slot, set against the backdrop of a graveyard and featuring Nosferatu on the reels. Nosferatu appeared in the 1921 horror film of the same name, an unauthorized version of the Count Dracula story.
Nosferatu appeared in the familiar red cape with his two pointed teeth prominent. He is joined on the reels by his three love interests, who are conveniently a blonde, a brunette and a redhead, which makes identification particularly straightforward! The highlight of this horror themed slot is the free spins bonus round and the huge payout awarded for Nosferatu himself.
How to Win on Bloody Love
Nosferatu is by far the highest paying symbol on the reels, worth 10x the payout of any other, with a top prize of 5,000 coins for the maximum five in a row. 4 in a row pays 1,000 coins which is the second highest payout on the reels. The blonde love interest pays 500 coins for five in a row, while the brunette and the redhead pay 400 and 300 coins respectively. You’ll also land a win when you land a combination of Nosferatu and his love interests appear on the reels, a top payout of 320 coins heading your way for five in a row.
The standard symbols are completed by the playing cards 9, 10, J, Q, K and A which pay between 100 and 200 coins as a maximum award.
The final symbol on the reels is a can of ‘Nosferatu Blood’, which might easily be mistaken for a can of tomato soup! First of all, this acts as a wild symbol, although this wild will only substitute for the playing card symbols. Second this symbols also acts as a scatter. Land the maximum five on the reels and you’ll pick up 400 coins, while 3 or 4 will pay 20 and 100 coins. More importantly perhaps, three or more scatters will also see entry to the free spins round. You’ll be awarded a total of between 3 and 15 free spins during the feature. A number of spins will appear below each of the scatters and you’ll be awarded one of these numbers in spins.
Design and Setup
Despite the horror theme, this Novomatic slot has a cartoon like design, giving the game wide appeal. Nosferatu himself is the standout symbol, appearing both to the right of the reels throughout the game and on the reels themselves. Every time you land a win with any of the four characters you’ll see a nice animation and the game has a nice sense of humor too, especially when the blood appears in a tin. The background scene is a good one too, featuring a moonlit misty night, with a gnarled tree and an ancient headstone in the scene. The only thing missing from the game is the spooky soundtrack, the accompanying sound a little too upbeat and fun at times.
Take away the spooky theme, the blood and the slightly strange love story and you’ve got something of a standard five reel slot. There are a total of just 10 win lines, so you’ll simply choose your coin value and multiply this by 10 to give you your total stake for each spin. To the left of the control panel you’ll find the ‘autoplay’ button, which you’ll simply click to set the auto play running and click again to stop it.
Bloody Love makes for a fun, enjoyable horror themed slot. In terms of gameplay, it’s not the most original slot you’ll ever come across, as the almost standard base game and free games feature is nothing new. However, with a scatter that also acts as a wild and the fact that combinations of the top paying symbols also pay, there is some variety. No, Bloody Love won’t be the first game you’ll head to in the casino, but it is well worth a spin or two. Just make sure you play it during the hours of sunlight!
