Thrill Spin Slot Game

There are a lot of classic fairground symbols on this NetEnt 5-reel video slot. These range from a roller coaster (complete with screams when included in a win) to a giant Ferris wheel and even a hot dog. Along with the bright (almost garish) design, you’ll get a fairground sound effects.

There are some opportunities to win big. The single biggest win from the base game is 10,000 coins – which is good, especially for a 15 win-line game. All of your wins are tripled during the free spins bonus game, which is triggered by hitting 3 of the balloon scatters.

  • How to Win on Thrill Spin

This is a simple game, with no unique features or ways of winning – you’ll simply need to line up symbols from the left over the 15 win-lines. The best paying is the wild symbol, which is the rollercoaster car with the word ‘Wild’ above it. 5 of these will bring you 10,000 coins, with 2500 coins for just 4, 250 for 3 and 10 coins for 2 from the left. As the wild this symbol will substitute for the other symbols too – sometimes creating wins over several win-lines. Any wins which are created with the wild symbols pay double the listed prize. As usual for online slots, wild symbols do not substitute for the scatters.

The haunted house is perhaps the best designed of the symbols, and is 2nd in the prizes list. Lining up 5 of these will pay you 1000 coins – and this symbol also pays all the way down to 2 of a kind. The Ferris wheel is next at 750 coins, followed by a carousel horse (500), ice cream (250) and hot dog (also 250). Playing card symbols are also used, these have been tied into the theme, for example the smaller ones looking like tickets.

Thrill Spin Free Spins Bonus Game

Scatter symbols have two roles. These show a guy holding a bunch of helium-filled balloons. First, there is a prize which is a multiple of your total spin amount depending on how many are on the reels in total (regardless of whether they are on a win line). The top prize here is a generous 500x your total bet, which is the equivalent of 7500 coins for 5. You’ll get 25x your bet for 4, 5x for 3 and 2x for just 2.

More importantly, hitting 3 or more of the scatters will trigger the free spins bonus game. This is essentially the same as the base game – only with a 3x multiplier on any wins you hit. There is also some classic fairground type music playing while the spins quickly roll through. You can retrigger for 15 more spins with 3 more of the scatters.

    Garish Bright Design

The design of Thrill Spin is deliberately over the top, with a cascade of different (often clashing) colors bringing the theme to life. You’ll see a rollercoaster track around the reels, along with multi-colored balloons which have the line numbers on them. The logo is underneath the reels this time around. Symbols create a crazy packed together feeling within the reels, again, the designs and coloring deliberately aim for this effect.

Standouts for me include the haunted house, which is monotone compared to the rest of the symbols. The ice cream is also nicely drawn. Animations are subtle, for example when you win with the scatter symbols the balloons rise, bringing up the word ‘scatter’ from below. One slightly irritating aspect is that the rollercoaster wilds have a screaming sound effect when you complete wins with them. This occurs a little too often, so the game is constantly screaming!

Setup for this game is 15 win-lines as a maximum and a default, you can adjust this number lower if you wish. You can also adjust your coin size and the number of coins bet per line – as well as use the standard auto-play option.

    Overall Experience

This is a solid game, with a very simple ‘wilds in the base game and free spins round’ setup. There is a shot at a 10,000 coin in in the base game, plus 3x that during the free spins. The crazy theme is entertaining, though nothing too special in terms of the graphics or setup.
