Fruit Case Slot from NetEnt

Instead of the traditional fruit symbols used on slots over the years, you’ll find worried looking cartoon fruits – and many pots of jam on this Net Entertainment slot.

The cascading wins system (called free falls) is put to good use in this light and entertaining game – with multipliers that increase for every win you hit. There is also a free spins game, where your wins can be even bigger.

How to Win on the Fruit Case Slot

Multipliers play a big role in payouts for this slot – and when you get these combined with the bigger wins you can easily find yourself with a windfall. The core of this game is that any wins you hit get squashed (literally, by 2 metal presses which come from the sides of each symbol) and disappear. The symbols then move down to fill in the gaps, with brand new symbols filling the top of the reels. This will sometimes create new wins, and the squashed symbols + new ones appearing sequence then repeats.

As you get sequences of wins, the multiplier attached to each one goes up. This goes from 2x to 8x (for the 4th and any subsequent wins). Keep in mind that you will also get wilds which multiply the wins on the reels too – these work in combination with the multipliers for hitting several wins in a row.

Once you see the multipliers, the smaller base amounts awarded for your regular wins make more sense. These wins can be 8x or sometimes even more the amount on the pay table.

Your biggest wins will come from hitting 5 of the worried looking strawberries. This is worth 2000 coins before any of the multipliers take effect. You’ll get 200 coins for 4 and 50 coins for just 3. Oranges (1000 for 5), lemons (500) and pears (100) come next. Smaller wins come from jars of jam with Ace, King or Queen stamped on them. When these get squashed by the presses after a win, the glass cracks and shatters – leaving a giant puddle of jam.

Wilds and Free Fall Symbols

Wild symbols say ‘fruit case’ on them over the top of a wooden crate. These have a 2x multiplier written on them by default. As the number of avalanches (cascading wins) increases, the default multiplier on the reels also goes up. These are applied to your wins sequentially, so 2 of the 3x multipliers in a win-line are worth 6x.

Free fall symbols kick off the free spins bonus game. This is essentially the same as the main game (though there is some continuous ‘plinky’ background music). Wins during this bonus game are multiplied by 3. You get 10 free spins for 3 or more sequential free falls symbols – though you can trigger more spins with 3 more during play.

Clean and Cartoony Design

While the detail and artwork is not up to the standard of most NetEnt slots, this is a fun, clean and entertaining production. Around the reels you will find pipework, crates and dials – brining to mind that the setting is a jam factory. The reels are white, which allows the bold and bright fruits to stand out.

The best aspect of the design is the simple way in which the fruits each have individual character. These all look worried (they are about to become jam after all). When they are involved in wins, each fruit will be pulverized before disappearing in an entertaining animation. There are sound effects to go with this.

Fruit Case Slot Setup

This game uses a standard 5 reel, 3 row grid with 20 win lines. These are fixed for this game, though your coin size and the number of coins you bet per line are both flexible. There is an auto-play option which allows you to select up to 100 automatic spins. Like all NetEnt slots you have many other options to configure the sound and the quality of the graphics.

Overall Experience

I enjoyed this simple game, with the squashed fruits and avalanche wins adding some entertainment value along with the potential for big wins. You can get multipliers of up to 8x for the base game, though it is the free falls (free spins) game where the potential prize money really increases – with a 3x multiplier on all wins before the ‘avalanche’ bonuses kick in.
