Dragon’s Wild Slot from Everi Gaming

On the surface this looks like just another Asian themed slot. What you’ll find is that Dragon’s Wild packs a punch when you get to the free spins bonus game.

This really moves things up in terms of graphics and your potential for big wins. The base game features different colored dragons, along with stacked wild symbols.

When you hit 3 or more of those valuable free spins symbols, the dragons also become wild.

How to Win on the Dragon’s Wild Slot

This game shares the same setup with most Everi Gaming titles. There are 5 reels, each with 4 rows of symbols and 50 win lines covering them. Dragon’s come stacked, and in red, blue, green and yellow – each with a different design. When you get one involved in a win that is covering all 4 of the rows on a reel, this comes to life as an animation.

Individual wins are on the smaller side, with even 5 of a kind wins only bringing a few hundred coins per line. Your biggest wins will come when you get a good coverage of the reels and trigger 10 or more of the lines at once. Dragons are the biggest paying symbols. With the playing card symbols (given a slight Asian style make-over) making up the smaller wins.

Wild symbols do come stacked, and will often cover entire reels. It is possible to get the entire grid covered in these wilds – though this is much easier to achieve then the stacked dragons also become wild during the free spins.

Dragon’s Wild Fiery Free Spins Bonus Game

In the regular game the graphics are sharp and smooth, though fairly ordinary overall. In the bonus round, the graphics really take things up a level. First of all, you’ll start with a dragon flying around and then breathing fire right at you, engulfing the screen in vivid flames. Next you need to click start on a screen which shows you have 7 free spins.

Immediately you enter the free spins, a surprising music track starts. This is more like a pop / dance tune than anything which is usually associated with an Asian themed slot. While the free slot games are ongoing you’ll see dragons flying to and fro behind the reels. This is very effective, turning what looked like a fairly ordinary slot into a spectacular one.

Things can get spectacular from a gaming perspective too. All of the dragon symbols (which remain stacked) now become wild. With the regular wild symbols still in play (also stacked), you have a big chance of covering a lot of the reels wild. 50 win-line pay outs are certainly achievable during this bonus. You can retrigger for 7 more spins (up to a total of 70 max) by hitting 3 more of the free spin bonus symbols during play.

Design and Setup

This game is definitely a case of ‘don’t be fooled by first impressions’. Those impressions will be of a fairly ordinary looking Asian slot, with some reasonably detailed colored dragons on the reels and a bright red top box over the reels. It is not until you hit the free spins game that the potential of the design is unlocked. At this point the lively music, dragons flying between the reels and multiple winning animations as the wild dragons on the reels come into play really do bring things up a level.

Many of the usual Asian symbols are missing (no golden carp or turtles to be found). This is made up for by having 4 unique dragons in different colors. Each one has its own animation and roar when you make a win with it, with the yellow one my favorite of the bunch!

As with all Everi slot games the number of win lines is not adjustable by the player. This is fixed at 50. You can bet up to 500 credits per spin, with the smallest credit just 1c. If you get a good run on the free spins game, you might be lucky enough to get close to the 500,000 credit top prize.

Overall Experience

What appeared at first to be an ordinary Asian themed live casino slot certainly turned out to be a good game. The key is the free spins bonus round, when all 4 of the dragons turning wild at once can give your bankroll a huge boost. 7 free spins is not the longest bonus round, however these can be retriggered while you play.
