Elvis Top 20 Slot Machine
Elvis is a popular theme for slot games – no other music star is so closely associated with Las Vegas and gambling after all.
This game from Barcrest is not as complex or as visually appealing as some Elvis themed slots made by other software houses.
You will find that the 3 bonus rounds and music accompanying your spins make Elvis Top 20 an entertaining game which is certainly worth taking for a spin. In addition to the bonus games, there is a top prize of 10,000 coins available during standard play too.

The regular wins will come from lining up 2 or more symbols from the left hand reel on one of the 20 pay lines. What you will find with this game is that the biggest payout of 10,000 coins is way bigger than the others. This is for lining up 5 of the wild symbols (the word ‘Wild’ with a crown on the top). In addition to paying the biggest prize, this wild will also substitute for any of the regular paying symbols – though not the guitar, gold record or jukebox bonus symbols.
Next in line for the prizes come some symbols which will be very familiar to fans of Elvis. These are the pink Cadillac and Elvis through the different stages of his career, from the young gun through to the famous white jumpsuit of the Vegas years.
Most of your good sized wins from this slot will come via one of the 3 bonus games. Two of these are ‘on reel’ bonuses, while the 3rd one will break out to a new screen where you’ll get to enjoy some performances from the King himself.
How Rainbow Riches: The Big Shindig Works
If you hit 3 guitars on the reels, you will get a medley of songs along with cash prizes. The normal game stops for a while, and each guitar will take turns in playing a tune. As they play, cash prizes will accumulate. The length of this bonus can vary quite a lot. Sometimes you’ll get 3 or 4 short tunes, and a moderate payout. Other times the guitars will play for longer, and each one will play multiple times.
The other on-reel bonus game is triggered by hitting 3 of the jukeboxes. This is a very simple pick type bonus which gives you an instant multiplier on any wins. The 3 jukeboxes will invite you to pick them. When you click one it will reveal a win multiplier which is applied to your current win. This is a very quick game; you’ll be back to normal right away!
Finally the golden records will trigger the break out bonus. This is a far more impressive game, and is accompanied by Elvis performing Blue Suede Shoes in the middle of the reels. Circling around Elvis are gold records, making up a surreal wheel of fortune (this is not a million miles away from the circling pots of gold in Rainbow Riches: The Elvis Top 20). This game is automated, so all you will do is watch and wait for the wheel to stop. The prize is given as a multiplier of your total spin amount.

Set Up and Play for Elvis Top 20
You can choose the number of win lines to play on this game – with 20 being the default and maximum. With wilds in play I always like to keep all possible lines, and then adjust the bet per line to match my bankroll. The minimum spin is 2c on the version I played, for 40c spins. It is possible to spin for a huge $500 a time, and to set up auto-play for 25 spins each time.
The design of this game is not spectacular, it has the feel of a slightly retro game with plain colors and bright and solid – though not detailed – symbols. Fans of Barcrest slots will know that they stay silent between spins, and play tunes while you spin. For an Elvis slot, this is not the ideal setup. I’d prefer a bit more of a backing track. While the animations are basic for the on-reel parts of the game – things at least brighten up a little for the break out bonus round, where you’ll also get a performance of Blue Suede Shoes from the King himself.
Elvis Top 20 – Conclusion
I enjoyed this game overall, though it probably will not be a long-term favorite. The general game-play is solid. This gets broken up often enough by the small on-reel bonus games to stop it getting boring. The break out bonus does not happen too often, though is undoubtedly the highlight. If you are an Elvis fan, make sure you take the top 20 slot for a spin soon
