Quick Hit Las Vegas Slots

The ‘Quick Hit’ series of slots from Bally has fans in live casinos around the world. This is a series of titles which combine classic slots game play, with the chance of a quick windfall. Titles include Quick Hit ProQuick Hit Black Gold and of course the game reviewed here, Quick Hit Las Vegas. You’ll get the best wins via special ‘scatter’ symbols. The important thing about these is the total number you see on the reels – regardless of their position. In this game, if you get 9 or more anywhere in the 5 reel by 3 row grid, you win a generous 2000 times you stake. In addition to this there is a free games round, which has a pick-em type game to find out how many spins you will get.

As you might expect from a Vegas themed slot, the look is bright and glitzy. In common with the other Quick Hit slots, there is a somewhat retro feel – though the detail in the graphics and animations give away that this is a more recent creation. Above the reels you will see a night sky (complete with search lights). Look out for the occasional shooting star. On the reels you will mostly see playing card symbols (with crowns), along with cocktails, roulette wheels the Vegas sign and a wild symbol. There are some animations when you hit wins, and you will see a special animation pop up for any 5 of a kind wins too.

Playing Quick Hit Las Vegas

If you are  familiar with Bally slot machines, then the fact that the win-lines are fixed (non-adjustable) will not come as a surprise. This game has 30, and allows you to bet from 1c per line up to $15 – making the top spin amount a huge $450.

Also in common with other Bally slots is the fact that regular wins from lining up the symbols appear small. I always look at the main role of these wins being to keep your bankroll topped up long enough that you have a shot at the feature round – or maybe line up a lot of the ‘Quick Hit’ symbols. With wilds in play the smaller wins are reasonably frequent in this game – you will get a tune played for each one you hit too.

The main attraction is the ‘Quick Hit’ icons, which pay from 2 or more anywhere on the reels. If you hit 9 of these you get an instant windfall of 2000 times your total stake. 8 pays 650 and 7 pays you 100 times your stake. Smaller scatter wins are 50x for 6, 10x for 5, 5x for 4 and the consolation prize if your money back for any spin which shows 3 of these. These wins are in addition to anything which comes from the regular symbols.

Wilds (just a logo which says ‘Wild’) come stacked – meaning that they can cover all 3 rows on a reel at the same time. This sometimes means you’ll get multiple wins from the same spin as the wild completes different winning combinations.

Bonus Games on Quick Hit Las Vegas

Vegas signs on reels 2, 3 and 4 will trigger the two part free bonus game. This starts with a colorful cascade of chips coming down the screen, and revealing a grid of tiles. You have to click these tiles (which flip over) until you get 3 with the same number of free spins on. Some are red ‘wild’ ones, which add multipliers to your game.

Next you go to a new set of reels (the same symbols with different graphics and a black background). A lively jazz tune plays while you cycle through the number of spins you won. At the end of the bonus you will see the cascade of chips once again, and find yourself back to the main game.

Summary of Quick Hit Las Vegas

The more times I play Quick Hit slots, the more I enjoy them. Bally has been around for decades, and knows the formula for great slot games. With the quick hit range they managed to combine the easy big-win potential with entertaining bonuses and classic slot gaming. No wonder these are hugely popular both in live casinos and online.
