Fortune King Slot Machine

If you head to any casino, you’ll almost certainly find a number of Asian-themed slots. This can be a double-edged sword, as these games can have trouble standing out. Fortune King Gold slot machine does a great job of getting itself noticed however – and it’s all to do with the bonus feature. Having the seven different choices adds an element of control (over the short-term variance at least) that you do not get with other games. You’ll be laughing along with the fortune god himself if you do hit a win with one of the bigger multipliers!

The Fortune King Gold slot machine is an entertaining Far Eastern themed slot designed by Australian developers Aristocrat. The central character is the Fortune King himself who acts as the wild symbol and is dressed in traditional red and yellow clothing. This symbol is no ordinary wild as every time you land a win using the symbol, a multiplier is attached and these numbers can become huge during the feature. This feature is a free spins bonus round, where players will find seven different options as to how they want to play it.

How the Fortune King Gold Slot Works

During the base game of Fortune King Gold, the reel set up sees the very familiar five reels, each reel showing three symbols. The slot doesn’t have win lines as the all-ways system is in play. This means that landing symbols on three or more consecutive reels from left to right, irrespective of the position on the reels, will see a win come your way.

The themed symbols see a nice combination of Asian imagery. A golden dragon is the standout symbol graphically, while a turquoise fish, a flower and a gold coin also appear. Like on many Aristocrat slots, players will also find a range of playing card symbols from 9 through to A.

At first you might think the Fortune King looks a little serious, but his face lights up and he laughs when you land a with this wild symbol. Not only this, but every win with the wild will see a small random multiplier attached (usually 2x or 3x). This wild symbol really comes into its own when you enter the free spins bonus feature.

Fortune King Gold Feature Round

A golden ingot is the final symbol which makes an appearance and this is the bonus symbol. To enter the feature, you’ll need to land this on at least three consecutive reels from left to right – meaning it acts a little differently to your standard bonus scatter symbol. If you do manage to land four or five in a row, then you’ll get a larger immediate win.

Having activated the feature, you’ll now have seven options. Each of the following options offers a number of spins and one of three multipliers which will be randomly applied to any wins using the wild symbol:

25 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x2, x3 or x5 multiplier

20 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x3, x5 or x8 multiplier

15 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x5, x8 or x10 multiplier

13 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x8, x10 or x15 multiplier

10 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x10, x15 or x30 multiplier

6 free games where ‘wild’ wins have a x15, x30 or x40 multiplier

A mystery choice where both the number of spins and the multipliers are randomly allocated.

With these seven options to choose from, it does add some strategy to the game. Players who like a lower variance game should opt for the 25 free spins and the lower multipliers, where a number of wins are almost guaranteed. Players who like an all or nothing approach could go for just 6 free spins with the big 15x, 30x and 40x multipliers. Here you may not win at all, but if they do it will be big! The most frequently chosen option will almost certainly be the final ‘mystery’ one, where players will leave it up to the gambling gods, hoping for both a large number of spins and the big multipliers too.

Fortune King Gold Design

This slot is hard to miss on the casino floor as it is housed in the Aristocrat Arc cabinet, featuring a 46-inch curved screen. The accompanying surround sound offered by the setup only draws you in more. The visuals of the gameplay are good, especially when the Fortune King erupts into laughter, but there could have been more themed symbols, as the playing cards can dominate at times. This can give the slot a slightly dated and unoriginal feel, although this is a small criticism of an otherwise excellent slot.
