Goldilocks Slot from Amaya

This game is based on the children’s story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.

Amaya have done an excellent job with the graphics – and the bonus game (based on free spins) has some interesting progressive elements to it too.

The symbols will be very familiar, with the Mum, Dad and Baby bear all appearing on the reels, along with the infamous bowl of porridge.

How to Win on the Goldilocks Slot

Individual wins are not huge in this game – you’ll make up for this by having 2 types of wild, one of which adds multipliers to the wins on the pay table.

The bowl of porridge with the word ‘Wild’ on it provides the multipliers. If you get a single bowl involved in a winning combination (this substitutes for everything except the scatter / bonus Goldilocks symbol) then that win is doubled. 2 bowls of porridge takes you to 3x and you get 4x on wins with 3 bowls. Keep in mind that a 3 wilds on a win-line always makes at least a 4 of a kind win!

Regular wilds have the bear’s cottage on them, this symbol will also substitute for the regular (not scatter) symbols. If you line up 5 wilds on a line then the prize is 1000 coins, with 250 coins for 4, 50 coins for 3 and 5 coins for just 2.

Mid-sized wins come via the bears. The family of 3 from the story is joined by a scruffy looking teddy bear with buttons for eyes. Papa pays 250 for5, while all of the others have the same 200 coin top prize. There are also playing card symbols ace down to nine which make up the smaller wins.

Goldilocks Slot Bonus Game

You’ll need to line up 3 of the oversized Goldilocks symbols on the middle 3 reels to trigger the bonus game. This starts with a very nice graphical sequence where you approach the bear’s cottage in the woods. Once inside the reels will appear to fill this new frame. You then click the button directly below the reels to start your 10 free spins.

You will notice the 3 bears underneath the reels, on wooden planks with holes next to them. The mum and baby bear have +2 spins next to them. This is part of the progressive game which makes this free spins round more engaging. Each time you hit a Goldilocks symbol (which is now blue), this moves down to the boards below and fills the gaps. After 3, the daddy bear roars and becomes wild – adding more wins for the remaining spins. You’ll need more to get the mummy bear wild, and when you do so you will get 2 more spins added. The porridge multipliers are still in play, which can make a big difference when combined with the new bear wilds.

Design and Setup

This game is a definite improvement over the majority of Amaya powered slots – with much better graphics and smoother game play. The reels still spin a little slower than on most games, though there is a ‘fast play’ button to speed things along.

The setting for the game is a forest, and you’ll see the 3 porridge bowls on top of the reels along with their multipliers. There are a fixed 25 win lines available, and instead of coin size and credits per line decisions you can choose your bet size from a list marked ‘total bet’.

Symbols are really well drawn, with the bears managing to have a lot of character despite them being cartoons. The playing card symbols are attached to pieces of wood. Winning animations are good too – especially the transformation of the bears into wilds for the free spins game.

In normal play this online slot is silent between spins, with computer beeps for the wins and when the scatters or wilds land. During the free spins game a tune does play. The best of the graphics is also founds in the free spins game – with the introduction sequence being very nicely done.

Overall Experience

This Amaya slot is certainly worth taking for a spin. It looks good, plays smoothly (with the help of the fast-play option) and has the potential for big wins with multiple different wilds – some of which have multipliers. The free spins bonus game is where things get really interesting. If you can make 2 or even 3 of the bears wilds for those last few spins, then some significant wins could be coming your way.
