Barnyard Boogie Slots

The Barnyard Boogie slot is set on a farm, although this certainly no ordinary farm.  At night, it seems that the animals sneak into the barn and enjoy a dance, the two pigs wearing sun glasses leading the way.

On the reels, you’ll find the two pigs wearing shades, the farmer, a rather alarmed looking chicken, a tractor and a large urn of milk, while the barn where all of the action takes place is the scatter symbol. The highlight of the slot is the bonus round, where you’ll try and discover the two hiding dancing pigs.

How to Win on Barnyard Boogie

To win at this slot you’ll need to land three or more symbols in a row from left to right on a win line. It looks like the farmer has done quite well for himself, as landing five of these symbols in a row gives you the largest payout of the slot at a very impressive 4,000 coins. The chicken is worth 1,500 coins, while both the tractor and the milk urn pay 750 coins. The standard symbols are completed by A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9, the payouts ranging from 500 coins for 5 Aces, to 100 coins for five 9s.

The barn is the scatter symbol and you’ll win a prize based upon your total stake if landing two or more anywhere across the reels. The big payouts come when landing 4 or 5 however, with respectively 20x and 200x your total stakes coming your way.

Perhaps unusually, the pig symbols acts as both a wild and will activate the feature, although the fact that the pig dances and wears sunglasses might seem a little more unusual! This symbol only makes an appearance on reels 2 and 4 and being the wild, will substitute for any other symbol apart from the scatters. However, if the pig appears on both reels 2 and 4 on the same spin, you’ll enter the bonus feature.

Barnyard Boogie Bonus Feature

In the bonus feature you’ll enter the barn where you’ll find a selection of barnyard objects. Click on these with the aim of revealing the dancing pigs. You’ll have three picks and the quicker you can find them, the larger the prize you’ll win. The top prize in this bonus game is 1,000x your total bet, which would certainly be a nice addition to your bankroll.

Design and Setup

Barnyard Boogie has a cartoon design, which adds a great sense of fun to the proceedings. The pig and the barn are the standout symbols, providing a very nice, slick animation when appearing on the reels, although it might have been nice if other symbols had animations too when winning, instead of simply flashing. The backdrop to the reels is eye catching, where the barn sits at the top of a large field, musical notes moving across the bright blue sky.

For the majority of spins the sound is somewhat basic, with a simple clicking noise when the reels come to a stop. However this improves greatly when you land a win with the barnyard symbol or the pig acts as a wild.

For a five reel slot, the number of win lines is on the low side, with just 9. However, should you want to play for fewer credits, you can enjoy any number between 1 and 9 lines. The coin value ranges from just 1c all the way through $5 and there are two spin buttons. The ‘spin’ option spins the reels with your chosen settings, while the ‘Max Bet’ button sees you spin the reels with all 9 lines in play (if you aren’t playing 9 already). The spin time seems a little lengthy at time, the reels taking much longer to come to a stop than usual, which some players might find a little frustrating at times, while other players might enjoy the added tension generated as you wait. Unfortunately the slot doesn’t have an auto play option, which would certainly have been a nice touch.

Overall Experience

The Barnyard Boogie slot is both a fun and entertaining game and it’s nice to come across a slot with an original theme (unless someone can point me to another slot where pigs in sunglasses dance in a barnyard). However, the gameplay is a little lacking at times. With no free spins bonus round and a relatively straightforward feature, this slot does pale a little in comparison with some of the best games you’ll find online. Nevertheless, this Amaya designed slot does have some appeal, especially to those players who enjoy a lower variance game.
