Today, we will teach you the basics of how to play Roll the Dice and give you some strategies to win more at the game.

How to Play Roll the Dice

Roll the Dice is a dice betting game where the object is to be on which symbols will be rolled. The game is played with three six-sided dice. The dice will have the following symbols:

  • Fish
  • Prawn
  • Crab
  • Coin
  • Calabash
  • Rooster

At the start of each round, you can make a bet on which symbols you think will appear on the dice. You can also make a bet that three of one symbol will appear. After you make your bets, the three dice will be covered with a bowl and shaken. The bowl will be removed to show the results of the roll.

The payouts of this game are simple. You’re paid out based on the number of symbols that are rolled. If you roll one instance of your symbol, you will get 1 to 1 on your money. Roll two of your symbol and you’ll get 2 to 1. Get lucky and land all three of your symbol, and you’ll get 12 to 1 on your bet.

If you choose to bet any 3 of a Kind and it hits, you’ll get 33 to 1 on your bet. This bet pays separately from your main bet. For example, if you bet $1 on Crab and $1 on 3 of a Kind, you’ll get back $13 for the Crab bet and $34 back for the 3 of a Kind bet.

You’re allowed to bet on as many symbols as you wish provided you don’t exceed the table limit.

Strategy for Winning

Roll the Dice is a simple game of luck, but there are some strategies you can use to win more. Let’s look at the most common strategies:

Single Bet Plus 3 of a Kind – For this strategy, you’re picking one symbol and the 3 of a Kind bet. You’re betting 2 units on each hand. This strategy has a lower variance than other multi-bet strategies. If you land one match for your symbol bet, you’ll break even.

The odds for the 3 of a Kind bet is 33 to 1, meaning you only need this bet to pay off once every 35 times to be profitable.

Two Single Bets and 3 of a Kind – This strategy is higher variance but also more profitable when you land multiple symbols. This is better for those that don’t mind more variance.

Three Symbols – You’re trying to hedge your bets here hoping to get lucky. You’d think this would be lower variance than the other strategies discussed, but you’re going to lose more money long term with this strategy because you’re giving up 21 units when 3 of a kind is hit.

Your best long-term strategy is going to be a single bet and 3 of a kind if you’re looking for lower variance. For long-term profitability, consider playing two symbols and three of a kind. You will have more variance overall, but this will be offset by a higher average win.

Roll the Dice is available at the Bovada family of real money online casinos, including Slots.LV, Ignition Casino, and BoVegas. If you like to play dice games, this is definitely a game you should check out. With the right strategy, you will find this game both fun and profitable.
