PokerStars PA to Hold PACOOP Starting November 30
It didn’t take long for PokerStars to kick things into high gear in Pennsylvania. Just a couple of weeks after launching the first legal online poker site in Pennsylvania, Pokerstars has announced their first live poker tournament series.
The first-ever Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) will kick off on November 30 and run through December 16. The series will feature 50 tournaments and has a guarantee of $1 million.
PokerStars to Hold First COOP Series in Pennsylvania
It’s a bit unusual for PokerStars to hold a COOP series so late in the year but since Pennsylvania just launched online poker, the timing couldn’t be better. The PACOOP will kick off on November 30th with a series of 50 poker tournaments covering most disciplines of poker. Buy-ins will range from $50 to $750 with most days holding multiple events.
Every event in the series will feature guarantees ranging from $8,000 for Omaha Hi-Lo and Stud Hi-Lo events all the way to the $300 Main Event with a $100,000. In total, this series will feature $1 million in tournament guarantees.
Jennifer Shahade spoke on the event in a press release from PokerStars. The company signed her as an ambassador for the site and she commented, “I’m thrilled to see PokerStars’ COOP coming to Pennsylvania this December, giving PA players the chance to play in a world-renowned poker series and vie for titles. Having online poker in Pennsylvania has been amazing so far. I felt chills playing my very first Sunday session, and there was such a buzz at the tables. I can’t wait to see everyone battling to be the first PokerStars PA champion.”
Earn Your Entry From $1
PokerStars is famous for having an outstanding array of online poker satellites available for all events, including their COOP series of tournaments. For this event, PokerStars is offering multiple ways to win your way into events.
First, they are holding satellites to PACOOP events around the clock. These consist of single table and multi-table online poker satellites. You can win your way into events starting at just $1.
If that’s not enough, there are other ways you can win PACOOP entries. First, if you make a deposit of $50 or more anytime between now and December 15 at 1:59 PM ET, you will earn an entry into the Main Event Depositor Freeroll. This tournament will award 25 entries into the Main Event.
If you’re already playing in PACOOP Events, you may have an additional option for earning event tickets. For those of you unfortunate enough to bust before the money in any PACOOP event, you will get a free entry into a daily Second Chance Freeroll. These freerolls are going to run daily starting on December 1st and run each day at 6 pm. The exception is Sundays when they will kick off at 3 PM ET. Every freeroll will award tickets into PACOOP events and satellites. A total of $20,000 in event tickets and satellite tickets will be awarded.
PokerStars Quickly Establishing Their Dominance
Unlike PA online casinos, players currently only have one place to play online poker. PokerStars could take the easy way out and offer an average site, but instead, they are offering a robust site offering multiple forms of online poker. The upcoming PACOOP event will help them establish dominance in the online poker market and make it somewhat tough for other online casino sites to catch up once they launch.
Keep in mind that you must be physically in Pennsylvania to play at PokerStars PA. The website is ringfenced and uses geolocation software to track your location. This is the same technology that online casino sites in New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada presently use. For those in and around Pennsylvania, the PACOOP is a historic event that shouldn’t be missed.
