Game of the Week – Pandas Go Wild
Do you ever wonder what Pandas do for fun? Well, you’re about to find out. Pandas Go Wild is the latest 5-Reel slot game from the Bovada family of real money online casinos. It features a fun panda-theme with the potential to score some massive wins. Let’s learn more about this cute game and the prizes available.
Pandas Go Wild is Cute and Simple
Who doesn’t love the cute and cuddly panda? In Pandas Go Wild, you’ll get your fill of these adorable animals. The game has a Chinese setting with traditional music playing in the background. The symbols for this game are super simple. You have Royals and four playful pandas.
The symbols are a good mix of lower and higher-paying symbols. The orange Panda is the highest paying symbol, paying on a winning line of 2x or more. You can win 500 credits on a single line for 5 of a kind.
Generally, most single-line wins will do no better than break even. As such, you need multi-line wins to turn a profit. There are some features available that will help you improve your odds of scoring a big win.
There are two wilds in this game. The standard fish wild can substitute for any symbol in the game except for the two scatters. If you catch an Expanding Wild symbol on Reel 3, the symbol will expand to cover the entire reel. A re-spin is then triggered for the other reels.
I was able to trigger this about five times in testing. Most times, it resulted in a decent win. The re-spin isn’t a guaranteed winner, as I whiffed on a couple of times I earned a re-spin. This seems to trigger about once in about 50 spins.
The pink flower Free Spins symbol is the first of two scatters. Land three symbols on the board and trigger the free spins bonus. You’ll get 10 free spins. Free spins can be retriggered.
I wish I could tell you how awesome the free spins feature is, but I was unable to trigger it after cycling over 200 bets. This was extremely disappointing. The hit frequency on this feature needs to be adjusted.
The bamboo symbol is the Bonus scatter for this game. Land three bonus symbols on the board to trigger the Bonus Game.
During the bonus game, you will three chances to pick a multiplier. You’ll pick from bamboo, then fish, and then fruit. All multipliers are added together and you’ll get a prize equal to the total multiplier.
It took a while to trigger the game, but once I did, I won 34x my initial bet. I played a while longer and finally got it a second time. The second time, I won 38x my bet.
Pandas Go Wild is Cute But High Variance
The concept behind Pandas Go Wild is cute. Who doesn’t love adorable panda bears? However, what slot players like more than pandas is the ability to win money. Unfortunately, Pandas Go Wild falls short in the prize department. If not for the two Bonus Game wins and another random base game win, I would have lost big. I still lost about 50 bets, which would be a stop loss for me most days.
Bovada casinos don’t list the RTP of its slot games, but I would put the RTP of this game at 95% or lower. It’s probably more like 94.5%. What I can confirm is that this is a very high variance slot game. If you don’t mind high variance, then you may want to try this game out. Otherwise, if you choose to play, I’d play at lower stakes to help keep the variance down a bit.
