Betway Sportsbook Signs Sponsorship Deal with ESL eSports Company
Betway, a top online bookmaker, signed a sponsorship deal with ESL, one of the largest eSports companies. The plan is for Betway’s sportsbook to sponsor 5 different events, include the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and ESL One events in 2018.
Betway Sports also plans to sponsor Season 7 and Season 8 of the CS:GO Pro League, which is one the world’s longest running Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports league. The seasons conclude in May 2018 and December 2018, respectively.
Under terms of the deal, Betway will provide live odds updates throughout the tournaments. That includes support for in-play betting, which allows smartphone users to make multiple wagers on propositions during a single event in the eSports tournament.
Betway-CS:GO Pro League Deal
Last year, Betway signed its original sponsorship deal withe CS:GO Pro League, which proved to be a success. The company also signed a sponsorship contract with ESL One Cologne, along with a partnership with “Ninjas in Pyjamas“, a top CS:GO team.
Adam Savinson, a spokesman for Betway, said in a press release, “We’re really excited to be sponsoring some of the biggest events on the esports calendar. We’ve already enjoyed an incredible amount of success over the past 12 months, becoming the first betting partner of CS:GO Pro League and ESL One Cologne, and we can’t wait to build on this further.”
“Following on from the success of our previous sponsorships, we will also be on the ground creating our iconic CS:GO content.”

Ninjas in Pyjamas Profile
Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has competed in events for League of Legends, Dota 2, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Paladins, and Overwatch, but is best known for its work in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive circuit. NiP had its best success from its inception in 2000 until 2007, when the team disbanded.
Emil “HeatoN” Christiansen, who was a star in the team’s heyday, became a team manager. In 2012, the team formed a CS:GO squad, which is anchored at present by Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg (pictured above) and Christopher “GeT RiGhT” Alesund.
